RLE system configuration

RLE system manuals contain tables indicating available system configurations, and identify their constituent parts (for use if ordering any of these components as spares items).

If you know the system configuration you require, you can use the RLE part number generator to determine the overall system level part number which can then be used to request a quotation or place an order.

The options you need to consider for an RLE system are:

  • Laser source (RLU10 or RLU20)
  • Calibration certificate (option at added cost)
  • Plane mirror or retroreflector target optics
  • RLD detector head type for each axis
  • Beam output orientation for each axis (not applicable for the differential interferometer head)

Calibration certificates (NPL traceable) are available but must be ordered at the same time as the system, they are not available retrospectively.

System kits with retroreflector configured detector heads also include retroreflector target optics. For system kits containing plane mirror configured detector heads, Renishaw can, if requested, provide plane mirror target optics. The Accessories section contains information on mirrors, mirror mounts and other auxiliary equipment for use with RLE systems.

In addition to retroreflector and plane mirror configured detector heads (including the differential interferometer (column reference) head), an RLD10 is available with no internal interferometer. This head allows an RLE system to be used with the linear, angular and straightness optics from the XL-80 calibration laser system. (This detector head is only available with a 0° beam output.)
