Renishaw OMV is typically used on a PC attached to the machine tool controller. With some controllers, it is possible to install Renishaw OMV onto the controller itself. This video demonstrates Renishaw OMV being used on an Okuma OSP200 Thinc controller.

System requirements

Operating system

Windows Vista® or Windows® 7 (32-bit* and 64-bit).

* Support for Windows® 7 (32-bit) operating system will only be provided whilst Windows Vista® is a supported product of Microsoft®.
Renishaw OMV releases after this time may not function on Windows® 7 32-bit versions.

Memory3 GB RAM (32-bit operating systems); 6 GB RAM (64-bit operating systems)

Graphics cardNVIDIA® Quadro® 256 MB (or equivalent)

1 free USB port (for licence dongle): DVD-ROM drive for software installation
Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7, 8 or 9: Microsoft® .NET Framework Version 3.5

Note: ATI graphics cards such as Radeon and FireGL are not supported.
