Renishaw appoints Techmak Engineering Ltd as Europe’s first authorised Fanbeam service centre
Renishaw has appointed Aberdeen, UK, based Techmak Engineering Ltd as the first authorised Fanbeam® service centre outside Renishaw to cover Europe and the North Sea region.
Renishaw's laser-based Fanbeam dynamic positioning (DP) position reference sensor has led the market for over 20 years due to its durability, high performance in tough conditions, and ease of use for dynamic positioning operators (DPOs).
Renishaw clients in the offshore marine industry trust the long-established Fanbeam sensor to ensure the safety of offshore vessel operations. Renishaw understands that customers rely not only on Fanbeam's reliability in extreme conditions, but also on accessible, expert support from centres stocked with spare parts and replacement units on the shelf.
Techmak Engineering was formed in 2016 by two former senior Renishaw service engineers with extensive experience in the service and repair of all generations of the Fanbeam system. From its dedicated Fanbeam service facility in Aberdeen, the company has excellent links to North Sea offshore shipping routes.
The range of support that Techmak Engineering provides includes full service, repair, and calibration of all Fanbeam systems. It can also provide hire and off-the-shelf sales of Fanbeam 5 and Fanbeam Advance, as well as spare parts and accessories.
Techmak Engineering Director Michael Hill said: “We are proud to provide Renishaw's Fanbeam customers with the high level of vessel support that keeps fleets working. It's business as usual for us though, because as former Renishaw employees we'll simply continue to practise the high levels of customer care for which Renishaw itself is renowned.”
