Q:  Tool setter alignment?

A:  See either TS27R or OTS installation movies.

 

Q:  How do I measure an off-center tool without approximate tool length input?

A: You can't, an approximate tool length is always needed.

 

Q:  How do I measure dia. 0.5 mm small tool?

A:  By slowing down the measuring feedrate.

 

Q:  How do I change approach and measuring feedrate?

A:  You need to amend the macro software – Contact Renishaw's technical support team for more details.

 

Q:  Can I just do length calibration?

A: No you can't, the calibration cycle will check both length and diameter.

 

Q:  When does the calibration cycle run?

A:  Once initial set-up has been completed, the automatic calibration cycle can be run at intervals that suit the machining process requirements.

 

Q:  How long will the batteries in my OTS last?

A: The battery life is listed in the OTS Data sheet.

 

Q:  How do I turn on/off the OTS?

A:  The OTS operates using optical on/optical off mode.
