Embedded Software Engineering Industrial & Summer Placements

Embedded software engineering placements work with a multi-discipline team involved in the development life cycle of new and current Renishaw products.

Embedded Software Engineering Industrial Placement

We are not currently recruiting for Embedded Software Industrial Placements for our 2022 intake.

The industrial placement scheme at Renishaw is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of a degree course in electronic engineering, robotics, computing for real-time systems or related degree.

Successful applicants are placed directly into a Renishaw embedded engineering team, contributing directly to our current product development, as a means of learning embedded engineering in industry. Typically, you will work on a variety of platforms such as very low level dedicated operating systems, standard real-time operating systems in sequential processing and VHDL programming in FPGAs when parallel processing is required. Teams will pitch the work at a level geared for the individual, with progressive personal development aimed at creating a confident and productive embedded engineer over the course of the placement.

Embedded Software Engineering Summer Placement

We are not currently recruiting for summer placements for our Embedded Software stream 2022 intake.

Renishaw takes on a number of students during the summer holiday period for between 6 and 12 weeks. Students studying at sixth form or degree level will get the opportunity to develop good practical skills that will prove invaluable throughout any embedded engineering career. The majority of placements get involved in a project during their time with us, typically working on a variety of platforms such as very low level dedicated operating systems, standard real-time operating systems in sequential processing and VHDL programming in FPGAs when parallel processing is required..

Person specification:

We are looking for students who are either studying for relevant qualifications in electronic engineering, robotics, computing for real-time systems or can demonstrate a practical exposure to programming with an interest in embedded engineering.
