Renishaw's FixtureBuilder software creates fixturing set-ups to provide documentation and assist off-line programming for CMM, Equator™ gauging and vision inspection.
FixtureBuilder software product family
The FixtureBuilder software family consist of the following product options:
- a download
- a dongle
- a network license
FixtureBuilder supports most CAD formats including IGES, SAT and STEP.
An additional translator module license for CATIA, Creo (Pro/ENGINEER), Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, SolidEdge and JT Import is also available for purchase.
The translator module supports the following file versions:
- CATIA V5: VR58-V5-6R2018
- Creo (Pro/ENGINEER): 16-Creo 5.0
- Siemens NX: 11-NX 12.0.0
- Inventor: V11-V2019
- SolidWorks: 98-2018
- SolidEdge: V18-ST10
- JT Import: 8-10.2
The translator module must be purchased with an NU, USB or CU License.

Renishaw FixtureBuilder Named User License - A single license tied to a single PC. Distributed via download.
Translator license - For the native import translator for importing files from other CAD programs. Optional purchase with Named User, USB or Concurrent User License.
Renishaw FixtureBuilder License - A single license distributed on a dongle transferable between different stations. FixtureBuilder will need to be installed on each station. Only usable one station at a time.
Network License Manager - Software controlled Network Licensing Manager. Download application – Concurrent User manager tool management.
Must be purchased with Concurrent User License part number CS-SOF-SW-17-FBCU
Renishaw FixtureBuilder Concurrent User License - “X” license(s) tied to a Network License Manager that allows the user(s) to utilise FixtureBuilder across a network. One user at a time.
X = the number of Concurrent User Licenses purchased.
- Windows-based design software. Version 8.0 supports only 64-bit versions of the Windows operating system.
- 64-Bit Window Operating System.
- A Pentium 4 CPU or higher (current AMD processors supported).
- 4GB Recommended (8 GB or more for large assembly work).
- Direct X and/or OpenGL compatible accelerated video graphics card (required for large assembly work).
- 2 GB of free disk space to install. More recommended for design data.
