neuroguide™ electrode introducer kit

neuroguide™ can be integrated into your existing practice, used either in combination with or instead of microelectrode recording. By requiring fewer trajectories through the approximate target volume, surgery times and the risk of haemorrhage are both reduced. In the event of a revision, neuroguide™ remains in place so you can deliver positional accuracy without having to repeat the full stereotactic procedure, saving time and benefiting you and your patient.⁹

All this enables you to obtain greater precision and accuracy in cases whether you are targeting the Subthalamic Nucleus, the Globus Pallidus Interna, the Thalamus or the ever more common and challenging Pedunculopontine Nucleus.

How does the neuroguide™ work?

neuroguide™ electrode introducer kit is made up of two parts:

• the stylette is the short-term implant that is used to verify brain target position radiologically so that an electrode can be inserted to the target position
• the guide tube is the long term implant where the threaded area is bonded to the skull. The guide tube extends into the brain and acts as a conduit for the introduction of an electrode

neuroguide™ instrument guide system

The neuroguide™ instrument guide system* is required for the delivery of the neuroguide™ electrode introducer kit.

This instrument guide system consists of single-use sterile guide rod and reusable guide elements (which may be re-used up to ten times). The neuroguide™ has the following benefits:

• Compatible with the neuroguide™ electrode introducer kit
• Dedicated kit for either the Elekta AB Leksell stereotactic system® or Integra Radionics CRW™ stereotactic frames
• Tungsten carbide single use guide rod for stiffness and hence accuracy of delivery
• Stainless steel proximal and distal ten-use guide elements

This instrument guide system delivers the neuroguide™ electrode introducer kit. The neuroguide™ instrument guide system rod and guide elements are also available as a bundle, providing the devices necessary for ten procedures. The guide rod and guide elements are also sold individually in the event that spares are required.
