Upgrade your current probing system and see your costs REDUCE overnight.

Manual head upgrade options

Savings when you trade in your existing Renishaw inspection equipment.

Upgrade your MH8, MIP and PH6 heads to the new MH20 or MH20i, featuring module changing, taking advantage of Renishaw's special pricing.

Upgrade to MH20i

Upgrade your PH6, MIP or MH8 to a new MH20i manual indexing head.

How will upgrading to MH20i benefit me?

The MH20i is designed to increase your throughput and save you inspection time. It gives you more flexible probing than the PH6, MIP and MH8 probe heads that we are taking in part exchange.

The MH20i uses a TP20 probe module, attached using a highly repeatable magnetic coupling. A range of modules allows you to select the most suitable stylus for your application, and to change styli in seconds, without having to re-qualify your probe.

As well as this increased flexibility, a lever is used to lock the MH20i's two swivelling axes into a series of highly repeatable indexing positions. The A-axis can be locked into 15° increments as it rotates through ±180° in the X-Y plane. The B-axis rotates through 90° in the Z plane, also featuring an indexing position every 15°.

Upgrade to MH20

Upgrade your PH1 or PH6 to a new MH20 swivelling head.

How will upgrading to MH20 benefit me?

The MH20 manual probe head is designed to increase your throughput and save you inspection time. It gives you more flexible probing than the PH1 and PH6 probe heads that we are taking in part exchange.

The MH20 uses a TP20 probe module, attached using a highly repeatable magnetic coupling. A range of modules allows you to select the most suitable stylus for your application, and to change styli in seconds, without having to re-qualify your probe.

As well as this increased flexibility, a thumbwheel is used to lock the MH20's two swivelling axes into an infinite range of angular positions. The A-axis rotates through ±300° in the X-Y plane. The B-axis rotates through ±93° in the Z plane.

Flexible stylus changing with the TP20 probe

The TP20's unique kinematic stylus modules mean that styli can be changed in seconds, either manually or under full programme control. Once swapped, the new stylus is immediately ready for use.

Upgrade kits include one or two modules of your choice from the following options:

  • Low force
  • Standard force
  • Medium force
  • High force
  • 6-way - replacing the discontinued TP2 6-way probe
  • 88 mm extension
  • 113 mm extension

The TP20 is the same size as the TP2, making it fully compatible with your existing TP2 inspection programmes - so you can get probing straight away!

Stylus module change racks, suitable for both manual and DCC CMMs, are also available. These are not included in the upgrade kit.

PH10/TP20- 6w

What does a manual head upgrade involve?

The cable is unplugged and the old head is released from the quill.

  1. The new head is inserted into the quill and secured.
  2. The new cable is plugged in.
  3. The new head and probe are re-qualified.

Thats it! You are now ready to start using your new head.

Upgrade to TP20

Upgrade your TP2 or TP6 to the TP20 stylus changing probe.

How will upgrading to TP20 benefit me?

TP20 allows you to measure your components faster by reducing the time you spend getting ready to measure.

The TP20's unique kinematic stylus modules mean that styli can be changed in seconds, either manually or under full programme control. Once swapped, the new stylus is immediately ready for use.

Upgrade kits include three modules - you choose which you need:

PH10T/ TP20/ EM2

What does a TP20 upgrade involve?

Your old probe is removed from the probe head, typically by unscrewing the M8 thread.

  1. The TP20 is screwed in place. Qualify the probe and you are ready to measure!

If you choose to fit a module changing rack to hold your stylus modules, this is easy too, requiring only a simple alignment procedure.
