Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace that inspires and represents our people and communities.

We aim to:

  • Promote equality by ensuring fair access to opportunities and resources for all employees.
  • Foster diversity by embracing different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences and promoting awareness and understanding of inclusive practices across the business.
  • Embed inclusion by cultivating a psychologically safe environment where every individual feels valued and respected for who they are.

Our approach is supported by;

  • Senior stakeholders who actively listen to feedback.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and EDI Champions who promote inclusive practices across the business.
  • Inclusive leadership training and cultural awareness initiatives.
  • A data-driven approach to identify, understand and address barriers to inclusion.
  • Ongoing governance to ensure EDI is embedded in our policies, processes and everyday behaviours.

Employee Resource Groups

Our Employee Resource Groups are colleague led groups, which bring together communities of people across all our UK sites, providing the opportunity to share experiences and be allies for one another.
LGBTQIA A space for colleagues to support each other and to ensure they never feel isolated because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
SHINE A space to discuss all conditions under the disability umbrella- physical, hidden disabilities and mental health.
Progress Women's Health A space for all colleagues to provide support and allyship, raise awareness, and share experiences on the topic of women's health.
Neurodiversity A space to share experiences and learn from each other. We also hope to increase our collective understanding of neurodiversity and to support each other as a community of allies, mentors and cheerleaders.

STEM outreach

Our STEM outreach programme aims to inspire and engage students through a variety of engineering activities. By participating, students gain a real insight into the vibrant world of engineering and the exciting careers available in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

We actively collaborate with diverse groups, including special educational needs and disability (SEND) schools and individuals from socio-economically disadvantaged areas. This initiative not only broadens students' horizons but also provides them with access to career opportunities they might not have previously considered. Through hands-on experiences and exposure to real-world applications, students can develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a passion for innovation.
