incise™ dental CAD

CAD bridgeThrough our experience of computer aided design (CAD) within engineering, and consultation with some highly experienced dental laboratories, Renishaw has created an efficient and intuitive framework design and manipulation tool to maximise the benefits of the incise™ dental CAD/CAM system.

incise™ dental CAD features

Features include dental frameworks up to 6 units, automatic margin line placement, a material add/remove tool and bridge strength analysis.

The incise™ dental CAD package is integrated into the incise™ dental scanning software, which is included in the low price of the scanning system. For a minimal capital outlay you get one of the most competitive unit prices on the market, along with unbeatable support.

Margin line placement

Margin line placement showing animated nudge toolThe incise™ dental CAD has an intuitive margin tool that allows you to automatically create a margin line with minimal effort - a single click and its done. Should you wish to customise your margin, the sketching tool gives you the freedom to place it anywhere you like.

The nudge tool makes it possible to shift the whole margin up or down with one click, eliminating the need to trim back bulky, overhung margins.

Fast dental coping design

Creation of single unit frameworks couldn't be easier. When you are happy with your margin line incise™ dental CAD automatically designs the coping for you using your preferred cement space and thickness.

Framework design

Once all the margin lines are placed incise pontic editincise™ CAD automatically generates pontics and connectors to create the framework. At this stage frameworks can be submitted for manufacture or you can proceed to more detailed design. All entities of the dental framework are configurable - pontics can be translated, stretched, squashed or rotated to any extent you wish.

Adding material to an incise bridgeThe frameworks can be customised using the add/remove material tool, which is designed to simulate working with wax. This could be used in areas where more support for porcelain is required.

Bite index

The incise™ dental CAD/CAM scanning software has the ability to capture bite impression date. This can be viewed at the framework design stage to assess your porcelain clearance.

Sectioning tool

Incise - Section tool 2

The sectioning tool allows you to view a cross section through any part of your framework. This is especially useful to check thickness of any added material or look at the cement space over the whole surface.

Strength indicator

Incise - strength test

Finally incise™ dental CAD checks your finished design using a complex strength calculation. The software then indicates problem areas and allows you to go back and modify them.
