About MP8

The MP8 is a machining centre component inspection system using infra-red optical transmission. The probe is supplied complete with a shank which incorporates an integral switch. As the probe is inserted in the machine spindle the shank switch is depressed, turning the probe on. The probe is automatically turned off when the probe is removed from the machine spindle.

The new generation OMP60 probe system supersedes the MP8 and offers advanced innovations and benefits.

MP8 features and benefits

The MP8 probe is suitable for machines that cannot support optical switching driven by M codes
Other than the shank switch, the MP8 is physically identical to the MP7 probe
Optical output at 35° and 70° to the probe axis to suit different installations
