Why ceramic?

Now you have a choice... ask for an inciseTM all-ceramic crown at your dentist.

Biocompatible zirconia

Inside a metal & ceramic crownCrowns are constructed from an inner framework - which provides strength and a close marginal fit to prevent food and debris getting under the crown - on top of which porcelain is built up to simulate natural tooth enamel.

Renishaw's inciseTM frameworks are made from zirconia, a very tough, light-coloured ceramic that is highly bio-friendly.  This means that not only is the crown or bridge strong and long-lasting, it also avoids the unpleasant allergic reactions and even toxicity that may be associated with metal-based restorations.

No more unsightly black lines

Case study 1_before incise crowns

In many cases, patients fitted with dark-coloured metal-based crowns experience unsightly black lines around their gum line as their gums shrink away from metal framework (see image right).  inciseTM biocompatible ceramic frameworks avoid this problem!
