CNC Setters/Operators
Vacancies have arisen for CNC Setters/Operators in the Machine Shop. Applicants must have served an apprenticeship and have substantial proven expertise in milling, turning and using a variety of manual and CNC machine tools. The successful candidates will be required to run a number of different jobs on multiple CNC Machine Tools. Confidence with CNC Machine Tools is therefore essential, together with the ability to interpret drawings and contribute to the programming where applicable. Machinists are also responsible for inspection and quality, using both manual and CMM equipment.
The successful candidates will be looking after three/four machines each and will be responsible for programming and inspection.
Training will be given where appropriate to further develop your existing skills.

Production Engineer
Manufacturing Services Division - Current Products Engineering Team
The above vacancy has arisen within the Manufacturing Services Division, reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, within one of the mechanical ‘Current Products Engineering’ teams.
The purpose of this role is to support and continuously improve the Assembly processes used on a range of products at the Woodchester site.
Key outputs and deliverables of the role:
- Ownership and support of the processes that exist within the cell(s)
- The investigation of process problems and root cause analysis, with the implementation of robust corrective action
- The analysis of process performance data in order to justify improvement actions
- The design of tooling, jigs and fixtures
- The processing of design changes
- Continuous improvement activities within the supported cells(s) – the elimination of waste and the enhancement of process controls
- The justification, specification and implementation of new process equipment.
Please note: The environment & products are typically high precision electro-mechanical assemblies with challenging performance characteristics. A wide range of materials and joining technologies are employed with an ever increasing focus on the employment of new technologies to improve efficiency and process control.
Specific minimum qualifications and expertise:
Educated to HNC/degree level, with proven substantial expertise in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, and Production Engineering.
Desired qualifications and expertise:
It is desirable if applicants are trained and have an expertise in Unigraphics and Six Sigma.
Person specification:
The successful candidate for this role, will need to show how they have key skills in effective time-management and prioritisation. In addition, the candidate should be able to demonstrate confidence and expertise in handling structured problem-solving methodologies and decision-making.

Assemblers
To support growth in the Encoder Products Division, vacancies have arisen for Assemblers to work in the production of small linear and rotary encoders, using cellular build, who have the ability to follow build/work instructions.
Expertise required:
No specific qualifications or expertise are required, as full training will be provided. However, it would be desirable to Renishaw if applicants have the following:
- Soldering skills
- Static handling knowledge
- Previous working knowledge of Electro mechanical assembly
- Knowledge/awareness of quality improvement initiatives
Person specification:

Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer
The above position has become available at Renishaw. The successful applicant will work as part of a 3 shift plant maintenance operation, with the responsibility for the day to day supervision and performance of a team of multi skilled Plant Maintenance Engineers working predominantly on CNC machine tools. This role will report directly to the Works Engineering Manager.
The key outputs and deliverables of the role include the following:
- Direct supervision of day to day operations including, Engineer performance management, in terms time, quality and accuracy, and job feedback.
- Purchasing stock and cost management for the shift engineering team.
- Training and development of the shift engineering team.
- Fault and defect analysis.
- Equipment performance report generation and analysis.
Qualifications and expertise:
All applicants are required to have the following:
- ONC/City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Time served in a relevant maintenance engineering background.
- A comprehensive understanding of CNC Machine Tool Maintenance techniques and requirements.
Although not essential, it is desirable if applicants hold the following:
- Previous experience in a relevant supervisory role.
- Previous working knowledge of a range of CNC machine tools to include Mazak machine centres and Citizen and Mori Seiki lathes.
- Previous knowledge of cleaning machine and laser marking technology.
Person specification:
The successful applicant with be a proactive individual, who is a good communicator, and has excellent organisation and PC skills.
