Case Study
Diagnosis
Patient A, a 48 year old female, had four crowns on her front teeth - both central and lateral incisors. The patient was very unhappy with the appearance of her front teeth and the dark shadows at the gum line and felt very self concious when talking and smiling.
Three of the crowns were metal-based porcelain jacket crowns and were fitted about 30 years ago. The crowns were showing signs of gum recession and staining. Not only have the gums receded, but the margins are exposed.
The patient's left central incisor (right as you look at the picture) was replaced only five years before and is a porcelain bonded crown. This crown still looks in pretty good condition, however to achieve a uniform look and and excellent overall fit, the patient wanted to change all four crowns.
Treatment
The teeth were prepared and impressions taken using the proven techniques of the incise™ process. This involves using scientifically tested impression materials which give highly accurate results, ensuring that a real representation of the patient's mouth is achieved without distortion. This all helps to get the best possible fit for the final crowns.
Result
Two weeks later, the patient was fitted with her new inciseTM crowns. The zirconia material used to make inciseTM crowns is a metal-free light-coloured material which is extremely biocompatible with the gum tissue.
The result is healthy pink gum tissue and a superb aesthetic appearance as can be seen just 4 weeks after the crowns were fitted.
