Laser10 software

Laser10 software provides the capability for static and dynamic measurement of a machine's linear, angular, straightness, squareness and rotary accuracy.

Many features and capabilities including:

  • Automatic data capture
  • Dynamic measurement
  • Universal error compensation
  • New report standards
  • Comprehensive on-line help

Software features

Below is an example of the Laser10 software.

Laser 10

The system features are:

Capture data manually or automatically - For the measurement of linear, angular, straightness, flatness, squareness and rotary performance of machines.

Dual axis - Where one axis is controlled by two drives and two feedback systems, the dual axis option provides the capability to automatically capture data from both parallel axes simultaneously, reducing calibration time and improving accuracy.

Dynamic data capture - For the evaluation of acceleration, vibration, velocity and servo control performance, the dynamic data capture and analysis software is capable of sampling rates up to 5 kHz and contains integrated vibration analysis (FFT).  Ideal for the measurement of machine error characteristics such as: pre-load and hysteresis of ballscrew and nut mechanisms, positional stability and encoder performance, and resonnance characterisation of motors and spindles.

Interface with the other instruments and systems - Use Mitutoyo's Digimatic digital indicator to measure axis straightness, axes squareness, axis roll and linear repeatability, backlash and drift tests. Use Federal products 832 amplifier interface to measure axis straightness, axes squareness, horizontal axis pitch and roll, vertical axis pitch and yaw, vertical axis roll and surface flatness.

Error compensation - Machine performance can be improved with one simple laser test. The compensation packages now include a compensation 'wizard' and progress indicator to make automatic axis compensation even easier. The system will generate the machine move 'G' codes, drive the machine, capture data automatically, and on completion of the test cycle, download via RS232 the new error compensation files to the machine controller. Alternatively, universal error compensation can be used to produce a table for manual input to almost any machine controller.

Analysis output to international standards - Renishaw understands the manufacturing industry is constantly evolving, and it's important that the data is captured and assessed according to the very latest standards. We continually support our systems, and the laser data is analysed to standards ISO 230-2, ANSI B5.54, ANSI B89, VDI 3441, VDI 2617, JIS-B6330, GB-10931-89.

Comprehensive on-line help - Including full search and index facilities.
