Cementation

Cementing a crownGuidelines for fixing inciseTM crowns and bridges onto prepared teeth, resulting in a strong, close-fitting restoration.

Cementation guidelines

In general, it is safe to suggest that conventional cementation techniques may be used for inciseTM frameworks.

As with all dental materials the material supplier's recommendations should be followed.

Pre-treatment

The inciseTM restoration will be supplied with interior surfaces already sand-blasted by the laboratory.

Do NOT sterilise the restoration using steam.  This may have long term implications for the strength of the material.

Checking the fit

  • Seat the restoration.
  • Check the occlusion with articulating paper.
  • Check the colour match with the patient.  If you or the patient have any doubts, cement the crown / bridge temporarily until the problem is resolved.

Fixing the restoration

Panavia cementRenishaw recommends using Kururay Panavia® F resin cement.  This is a self-etching, self-adhesive, dual cure, fluoride releasing cement that can be cured with any Halogen, Plasma_ARC or LED light.

Some resin-modified glass ionomer cements tested by Renishaw expand beneath the crown creating unacceptable stresses.
