Renishaw's Spectroscopy Products Division produces the world’s best selling InVia Raman microscope systems. Following growth in sales, and new product introductions, there is now a vacancy in Japan for a Sales Manager with proven expertise in this field.

Requirements

  • Previous sales expertise in analytical instrumentation - preferably spectroscopy based.
  • To have knowledge and a proven ability of working within life sciences, pharmaceuticals or the bio-diagnostics markets.
  • Good science of life sciences degree ideally PhD, English Language speaker.

Purchasing Engineer

Shanghai, China

Renishaw is looking to expand its overseas sourcing capabilities with the recruitment of a Senior Purchasing Engineer to be based in Shanghai, China.

This role is key in ensuring that the direct material requirements for all group manufacturing sites are purchased at the most competitive prices, whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality and service.

Qualifications and expertise:

The successful applicant will have excellent practical expertise as a Buyer from within the manufacturing or light engineering sector, with a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and related supply chains in China and the surrounding territories.

Applicants must have the following:

  • Extensive demonstrable expertise in a technical role within manufacturing
  • Substantial practical expertise in a Technical Procurement role
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 and quality control techniques
  • Expertise in the preparation and negotiation of supply contracts
  • Understanding of process control requirements and techniques
  • Knowledge of manufacturing costs and total acquisition costs
  • Knowledge of export regulations and shipment methods/requirements
  • To be PC literate with working experience using email, internet, office tools etc
  • Understanding of Materials management software (MRP/ERP)

Applicants are also required to have a broad knowledge of manufacturing sources and processes in the following generic areas:

  • Printed Circuit Boards and electronic components
  • Cable & Cable Assembly (Raw material, looms & termination)
  • Machining of metals (milling, turning etc)
  • Metal fabrication (Sheet metal, welding, chemical etching)
  • Motors (small dc low voltage)
  • Optical components (prisms, lenses, gratings etc)

  • Printing (brochures, data sheets, product guides etc)

It would be advantageous if applicants held a degree in Engineering.

Fluency in English is a must as this role will report directly to the UK.  It is desirable if applicants also have a fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Calibration Product Support Engineer

Renishaw are currently seeking to hire a Calibration Applications Engineer.  The successful applicant will be required to travel extensively throughout the United States, interacting with both customers and sales and marketing staff at subsidiary and parent companies on a daily basis.

The key outputs and deliverables of this role include the following:

  • To support customers and staff on a number of issues including application needs, technical installations, service and sales, and the identification of part number requirements.
  • Assist product division with new product development projects.
  • To prepare and give presentations and training sessions, in house and at customer facilities.
  • To assist with the preparation and organization of technical data sheets, sales quotes, brochures and manuals.
  • The preparation for and manning of trade shows and exhibitions.
    • The use and maintenance of CRM and support systems such as GoldMine and Phixus.
  • Other product management duties as assigned.

Qualifications and expertise:

  • A mechanical engineering degree, ONC, HND, BTECH or equivalent.  
  • Familiarity with CNC machine tools, CMMs and / or other multi-axis precision machinery.
  • A good understanding of metrology, with particular emphasis on machine calibration and design.
  • Familiarity with  laser calibration systems and/or other machine calibration devices
  • Although not essential, a background in quality control and a familiarity with machine tool performance measurement standards would be an advantage.
    Person specification:

The successful applicant will be organised and accurate in their approach to work.  In addition, the individual will possess excellent communication skills, being able to communicate face-to-face and via telephone, as well as being able to speak publically and write reports.
