OMM / MI12

The OMM optical receiver is used in conjunction with the MI12 interface.

The MI12 interface processes signals between one or two optical transmitters (OMMs) and the CNC control.

OMM / MI12 provides legacy transmission method and has now been superseded by the OMI-2 and OMI-2T.

The OMM-C / MI 120 variant allows for integration into the machine spindle nose.

About OMM

The OMM unit comprises an optical receiver that communicates with a spindle or turret mounted probe. Probe trigger and control signals are processed by the separate MI12 interface, located in the machine tool control cabinet.

 

 

About MI12

The MI12 replaces the earlier MI4 and MI7 interface units.

The standard MI12 unit is contained within a free standing enclosure with an optional panel mounting kit also available		The MI12-B is a board only version for mounting within the machine cabinet		Designed for MP10E and MP700E high-power optical transmission probing systems on large machining centres and 5-axis machines.

 

About OMM-C and MI 120

The OMM-C / MI 120 is an alternative to the OMM / MI12, providing the same capability in a package that can be integrated into the machine's spindle housing.

The OMM-C / MI 120 is suitable for use with Heidenhain and Siemens controllers.
