Undergraduate opportunities
Renishaw offers the following placement schemes for students prior to graduation:
Gap (prior to university) and industrial placements (during university)
The gap year and industrial placement programmes offer students a year of paid work on real projects, before or during university. These placements often lead to successful working relationships between graduates and Renishaw.
Holiday placements
These are mainly offered to students during the summer holidays for periods of between 8 and 12 weeks. In addition to a competitive salary, students have the opportunity to develop good practical engineering skills, which will prove invaluable throughout any engineering career.
Bursaries
Renishaw offers a number of bursaries each year to help support students whilst at university. These are awarded annually to students committed to developing their careers with Renishaw.
Graduate opportunities
Renishaw employs newly qualified graduates in the following disciplines:
- Mechanical/Electronic and Optical engineering
- Maths
- Physics
- Software
New graduates join the company as Graduate Engineers and remain so for approximately a year, during which time they will be moved around the Company in order to gain as much experience as possible. Graduate training is individually structured to match both the needs of the individual and the company.
On completion of the initial year, graduates become fully-fledged engineers. At any time during their employment with Renishaw, engineers may apply and work towards Chartered status. The company fully supports this through a mentoring scheme and funds the membership of one professional body for each employee.
