  • First-class Renishaw engineer awarded university prize

    Roxanne Pollard Roxanne Pollard, a Mechanical Design Engineer at Gloucestershire based engineering company, Renishaw, has been awarded the TATA prize, which is given to the highest achieving part time student at the University of Wales. Pollard, a former Renishaw apprentice, achieved a first-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • High hopes for Greenpower in Poland

    Global engineering and scientific technologies company, Renishaw, is entering the second annual Greenpower event in Poznan, Poland. After racing to success at Rockingham in 2016, the UK based Renishaw team is set to compete in the Polish event on September 23rd and 24th, 2017. The event marks the first time that the Renishaw Greenpower team has competed internationally.

  • Girls get into STEM engineering at Renishaw

    Students visit the operating theatre at Miskin, South Wales Global engineering technologies company, Renishaw hosted a series of Girls into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) engineering days in June, 2017 at its Miskin site in South Wales. These three activity days for local school girls, on June 19th, 22nd and 29th, aimed to inspire the female engineers of the future with hands-on activities and provided an introduction to career opportunities in the sector.

  • Industrial probes aid research in space

    The OMP400 probe uses special measurement routines to measure the circularity and cylindricity of the inner and outer surfaces of the test masses As a result of new developments in the theoretical knowledge of the very smallest particles on the planet, some physicists are now calling into question the principle of equivalence of inertial and gravitational mass into question. To examine these ideas, production specialists at the National Metrology Institute of Germany (PTB) in Braunschweig developed cylindrical test masses, achieving an accuracy of 2 µm to 3 µm for all geometric characteristics.
