 | RGH40 linear encoder systemA rugged 40 µm pitch encoder with wide set-up tolerances and high speed, designed specifically for use on high-accuracy linear glass scale and RESR rotary rings. Now with resolutions to 50 nm. The open, non-contact RGH40 readhead is designed for use with Renishaw's 40 µm RGS40-G glass scale or 40 µm RESR ring and offers resolutions to 50 nm.
RGH40 readhead features and benefits- Compact and robust readhead with internal interpolation offers industry standard digital and analogue outputs
- High speed, reliable operation with zero friction and zero wear
- 40 µm scale pitch offers generous readhead set-up tolerances
- Integral set-up LED simplifies set-up
- Patented filtering optics guarantee excellent signal stability in conditions unsuitable for most open, optical encoders
- The reference mark provides a repeatable home position whilst limits offer end of axis travel indication.
- The RGH40 reads 40 µm RGS40-G glass scale, 40 µm RESR rings as well as industry standard 40 µm glass scale
Compare the RGH40 with alternative optical linear readheads RGS40-G 40 µm pitch glass scale RGS40-G 40 µm glass scale is read by RGH34 and RGH40 readheads. RGS40-G is ideal for applications where the scale needs to move independently of the substrate. The thermal behaviour of RGS40-G can be compensated for by the host controller using temperature sensors.
- Available in a range of measuring lengths from 120 mm to 1 m
- Defined thermal behaviour; C.T.E ~8.5 µm/m/°C
- Accuracy of <±5 µm/m
- Easy to install, directly to the substrate, using datum clamp and mechanical clips or adhesive backing tape
