 | TONiC™ special solutionsRenishaw can provide a number of customer-specific modifications to meet your needs. If the standard TONiC product range (or our other encoders) doesn't exactly meet your requirements, contact Renishaw to discuss custom options. The TONiC absolute encoder range includes a 'variety' of special products for both rotary and linear axes, which are designed to match the demands of particular applications, including the products shown below. In addition, Renishaw can also provide a number of customer-specific modifications to meet your needs. If the standard TONiC product range (or our other encoders) doesn't exactly meet your requirements, please contact your local representative to discuss custom options. 1 nm resolution and ultra-low positional noise TONiC ultra-compact linear encoder range now has 1 nm and 2 nm resolution versions. Available in linear encoder and rotary encoder formats, the new higher resolution options comprise a standard TONiC readhead and new Ti20KD (1 nm) or Ti10KD (2 nm) interfaces that apply high interpolation rates to achieve very fine resolution.
- Low jitter at just 0.51 nm RMS
- Enhanced positional stability
- Low-speed velocity control
- Easy set up, greater ruggedness and superior dirt immunity

Typically, the interface is connected so that the analogue signals are wired to the motion controller, whilst the digital signals (with resolutions to 1 nm) are routed to the timing circuit of a synchronised operation, such as a camera flash on an inspection machine.
- Simplifies wiring
- High-speed interpolation with advanced CORDIC algorithms boost performance
- Detachable DOP interface with integral interpolation to 1 nm resolution (0.00075 arc seconds for rotary versions)
- Digital outputs are clocked for optimised speed performance at all resolutions for industry-standard controllers
- Robust DOP interface can be situated up to 10 m from the TONiC readhead
