ACR3 troubleshooting

Black deposit on probe autojoint

Badly aligned ACR3.

Excessive wear on ACR3 port


Possible cause

Badly aligned probe head.

Re-align probe head - refer to 'Head alignment for ACR3'.

Badly aligned ACR3.

Re-datum ACR3 - refer to 'Datuming the ACR3'.

Approaching the expected life of the ACR3 port.

Replace the port - refer to 'ACR3 accessories and spare parts' and 'Maintenance'.



ACR3 does not run smoothly

Badly aligned ACR3.

Re-datum ACR3 - refer to 'Datuming the ACR3'.

Damage occured to ACR3.

Return the ACR3 to the local Renishaw service centre.



Head obstructing during ACR3 lock / unlock sequence

Re-datum ACR3 - refer to 'Datuming the ACR3'.

Attempting to "stack" extension bars.

The ACR3 system has not been designed to support the stacking of extension bars.

Damage occured to ACR3.

Return the ACR3 to the local Renishaw service centre.
