At Renishaw, our early careers programmes give you the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibilities from day one. You'll work alongside world class engineers and technical experts, supported by experienced mentors who are invested in your development.
Whether you join us as a graduate, industrial placement student, summer placement student or apprentice, you'll gain the skills, experience and confidence to build a long term career in a global engineering and technology company.

Apprenticeships
Develop your future through real world engineering experience.
Renishaw apprenticeships combine structured learning with practical, on the job experience. You'll work towards recognised qualifications while contributing to live engineering and manufacturing projects, developing the technical and professional skills needed for a successful career.
With expert support and over 50 years' experience developing early careers talent, our apprenticeship programmes provide a strong foundation for long term progression at Renishaw.
Graduate schemes
Start your graduate career at the forefront of innovation.
As a graduate at Renishaw, you'll join a structured graduate development programme, gaining hands on experience through rotational placements (scheme dependent) and working on real world engineering and technology projects.
Supported by experienced colleagues and technical specialists, you'll strengthen your technical expertise while gaining valuable commercial and business insight in a global organisation.
Industrial placements
Put your university learning into practice.
Our industrial placement programmes give students the opportunity to gain real world experience within an industry leading engineering business. You'll work on live projects, apply your academic knowledge, and develop essential professional skills.
With support from experienced teams, you'll build confidence, expand your professional network, and gain valuable insight into potential graduate and engineering career pathways.
Summer placements
Take your first step into the world of work.
A summer placement at Renishaw gives you the opportunity to gain real world experience in just 6–12 weeks. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, develop key workplace skills, and see how your studies apply in a professional engineering environment.
It's an excellent way to build confidence, explore career options, and prepare for your future career.
Timeline for applications
Application form
Simply complete and submit your application form. There's no need to include a cover letter. We'll ask a few questions to help us get to know you better, including your education, skills and what interests you about joining Renishaw.
Online test
Complete a task-based online assessment designed to evaluate your alignment with Renishaw's core values.
Telephone call
You will be asked to book in a call with the GRB Renishaw team (our recruitment partner). This not an interview, but an opportunity to discuss what motivated you to apply and why you would be a great fit.
Assessment centre / interview
Meet the team and gain a better understanding of what makes Renishaw a great place to work.

When do applications for Renishaw's early careers programmes open?
Applications typically open towards the end of the year. We recommend following our Early Careers Instagram page, where we'll announce when roles go live.
Can I apply to more than one scheme?
Yes, you're welcome to apply to multiple schemes and programmes.
What are the academic requirements for each programme?
Each programme has its own academic requirements. You'll find full details listed on the individual job adverts.
What can I use to support my application?

What's included in the application form?
Our application form will ask about your educational background, skillset, and motivations for joining an early careers programme at Renishaw. It's designed to give you the opportunity to showcase your skills and knowledge, and demonstrate why you'd be a great fit.
Where are assessment centres and interviews held?
Assessment methods vary depending on the programme:
- Graduates, industrial placements and summer placements: assessed virtually (online assessment centres for graduates and industrial placements, and online interviews for summer placements).
- Apprenticeships: most assessment centres take place in person, either at our head office in Gloucestershire or at our Miskin site in South Wales.
Early Careers Open Evening
Join us virtually or in person at our annual Early Careers Open Evening, held towards the end of the year. Designed for students in Year 9 and above, as well as their parents and carers, this event offers an insight into the exciting opportunities a career in STEM can provide.
During the evening, you will have the chance to:
- Learn about our early careers pathways.
- Hear first-hand experiences from our apprentices and graduates.
- Discover how we support young people in building rewarding and successful careers.
