Robot health and calibration tracking software
Download RCS Software Suite
RCS Software Suite is easy to follow, with visual guides that take you step-by-step through a series of robot set up and verification routines.
Guided processes for robot set up and diagnostics
RCS Software Suite is the accompanying software package for industrial robot calibration and maintenance solutions. You can track vital robot health and calibration data using the RCS L-90 and RCS T-90 ballbar systems. This provides traceable data histories that can underpin maintenance schedules and reduce overall robot downtime.
Running online or offline, the software package enables you to perform a range of routines using both ballbar systems. Each session provides step-by-step instructions to help you set up your industrial robot and then assess its performance. The software stores results for future reference, with the capability to generate PDF reports or CSV files.
RCS Software Suite supports major industrial robot brands including ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, and Yaskawa.
Advancing industrial automation with RCS Software Suite
With online and offline capabilities you can run sessions for robot tool frame and part frame set up and verification, joint offsets, repeatability, and backlash:
Set up your robot
Prepare your robot to begin production with a series of set up sessions.
- Tool frame: Use the RCS L-90 ballbar to locate accurate tool centre points (TCP) for your end-of-arm tooling.
- Tool frame and joint offsets: Capture data with the RCS T-90 to create robot programs which locate tool frames and identify joint offsets. This means you can re-master your robot on site.
- Part frame: Use reference points from the RCS part frame kit to locate part frames easily with the RCS L-90.
- Probing alignment: Create template robot programs which allow you to set tool and part frames with RCS P-series.
Track your robot's performance
Identify issues in robot performance with a series of diagnostic tests.
- Tool frame verification: Determine the stability of your TCP when rotating about a point.
- Single and global joint repeatability: Test your robot's repeatability when exercising a single joint, or all joints at once, from a specific pose.
- Volumetric test: Measure how far your robot deviates from a series of circular paths in the XY, ZX and YZ planes.
Monitor the key metrics of your robot cell

Path performance
Relying on your robot to follow a predetermined path with precision is crucial for robot efficiency. Plot 3D path performance and identify the root causes of any poor performance.
Repeatability
Maintenance, joint stability, and calibration can all affect a robot's repeatability. The consistency of your robot to perform the same action repeatedly is vital for productivity.
Backlash
Wear and tear, heavy loads, and collisions can all affect a robot's joint backlash. Ultimately leading to joint failure and the need for repairs or replacements which often necessitate unplanned downtime.
RCS Software Suite licensing
RCS Software Suite is free to download and install. To conduct sessions with RCS ballbar systems on your robot, you will need to buy software licences for 1, 3 or 5 users.
The free version enables you to:
- Add information about an unlimited number of real-life robot systems, including tool and part frame data.
- Export/import robot system data.
- Define parameters for robot set up and verification test sessions.
- View existing session history and generate PDF reports or CSV files of results.
- Create template robot programs to use with Renishaw probing solutions for industrial robots (RCS P-series)
