Software Industrial & Summer Placements

Our software teams in Renishaw are core to our business in software development, which is a key component in supporting Renishaw's hardware products.

Software Industrial Placement

Due to a large volume of applications we have now closed our recruitment campaign for our 2021 intake for this scheme.

The industrial placement scheme at Renishaw is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course.
Successful applicants are placed directly into a Renishaw software development team, contributing directly to our current product development, as a means of learning software engineering in industry. Teams will pitch the work at a level geared for the individual, with progressive personal development aimed at creating a confident and productive software engineer over the course of the placement.

You must:

• Be studying at degree level in a STEM subject
• Have a proven interest in technology
• Be enthusiastic, motivated and have an ambitious nature

If you have the right aptitude and appetite you will have the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact during the placement.

Software Summer Placement

Renishaw takes on a number of students during the summer holiday period for between 6 and 12 weeks. Students studying at sixth form or degree level will get the opportunity to develop good practical skills that will prove invaluable throughout any software engineering career. The majority of placements get involved in a project during their time with us, and projects can be with our product, web and mobile apps, UI controls, 3D rendering, testing or applications management teams where you can gain a real insight into working in a software development environment.

We are looking for students who are either studying for relevant qualifications in computer science or can demonstrate a practical exposure to programming.

You must:

  • Be studying at sixth form or degree level and already have, or be on track to achieve, good A level grades in physics and mathematics
  • Have a proven interest in technology
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated and have an ambitious nature

Due to a large volume of applications for our 2021 summer placement intake, our applications are now closed.
