Manufacturing: Electronics Industrial Placement

The Electronics Manufacturing Industrial Placement at Renishaw is suitable for students who are required to undertake a sandwich placement as part of their degree course. Students will be considered from a wide range of STEM subjects, from manufacturing and electronics engineering, integrated / mechatronics to physics and maths.

An industrial placement within the electronics manufacturing organisation at Renishaw offers you the opportunity to understand and interact with cutting edge technology within a precision electronics assembly and test environment (utilising the latest generations of assembly, interconnection and electronic test process equipment). It will provide the chance to learn more about what a career in a modern manufacturing facility really means and provide an excellent insight into how a manufacturing organisation interacts with the entire business operation.

You will be given relevant projects and responsibilities related to your interests and discipline studied. The entire placement is spent within the Manufacturing Services Division to enable you to get fully integrated into the team, where you will be mentored and supported by the technical staff and our senior managers.

You will be encouraged to participate in the relevant areas; either electronics assembly process engineering or electronics test process development (both areas having process development, process support, and project engineering functions) with activities ranging from process design, project planning, performances analytics, to hands-on support and problem solving.

You will have the opportunity to connect with people working in the business and discuss your career ambitions and ideas with employees in similar roles. A successful placement provides an excellent opportunity for you to be considered for a graduate scheme position or a direct entry role in the future.

You must:

• Be studying at degree level in a STEM subject
• Have a proven interest in technology
• Be enthusiastic, motivated and have an ambitious nature

If you have the right aptitude and appetite you will have the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact during the placement.
