QUANTiC™ encoder series
The QUANTiC encoder system integrates Renishaw's filtering optics design and interpolation technology to create a super-compact, robust, incremental open optical encoder. QUANTiC encoders are easy to use with exceptionally wide installation and operation tolerances, along with built-in calibration functions.
QUANTiC readheads offer digital output and a new analogue output variant with a wide variety of configurations and linear or rotary scale options. Speeds up to 24 m/s can be achieved to meet the most demanding motion control requirements.
Detailed diagnostic information can be accessed by using the Advanced Diagnostic Tool ADTi‑100 and ADT View software during installation or for in-field diagnostics and fault finding.
In-built reliability and ease of installation
Robust position measurement over contamination
QUANTiC readheads ensure excellent motion control performance in a wide range of applications by minimising positional error over scale contamination. A new detector design provides an additional layer of signal filtering which helps to eliminate non-harmonic signal frequencies, ensuring low Sub-Divisional Error (SDE) and minimal signal variation over dirt or contamination on the scale.
Easy installation and set-up
The advanced optical design and signal processing of the QUANTiC encoder provides increased installation and operational tolerances whilst maintaining metrological performance. Low cost of ownership is achieved through reduced installation and set-up times.

Scale options
- Linear scales are used where straight-line position information is needed - usually X, Y or Z axes.
- Rotary scales are used for angular position information and the motion control of rotating elements.
- Partial arc scales are used for measuring a partial arc of rotation by wrapping them around drums, shafts or arcs.
