Bringing minds together to innovate by building diverse, inclusive teams who are committed to working responsibly and inspired to represent our people and communities
Our people strategy
We rely on our people's expertise to help us deliver our growth strategy and achieve our ESG goals, and we continue to develop and strengthen our policies and processes to support them. This includes: ensuring we recognise and reward our people appropriately; providing the right frameworks to help them build thriving careers at Renishaw; and setting clear expectations on what we mean by doing business responsibly.
Responsible recruitment practices
We aim to attract and retain exceptional talent globally through fair, skills-based and inclusive recruitment. We continuously improve our hiring practices to reduce bias, promote accessibility, and foster a culture where our people can thrive. Our processes are designed to provide equal opportunities for all applicants, regardless of background, identity or personal circumstances. By focusing on skills and competencies, we ensure that every candidate is evaluated equitably and given the best opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.
In line with our Code of Conduct and value of integrity, Renishaw is committed to fair recruitment practices across all regions, while respecting local cultures and legal frameworks. These principles are central to our recruitment strategy and are essential to building a workforce that drives sustainable growth and innovation.
Equality, diversity and inclusion
We believe that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is not just a regulatory requirement but a strategic imperative that drives innovation, strengthens our culture and supports our purpose of Transforming Tomorrow Together. We recognise that meaningful EDI progress takes sustained effort, and we remain committed to continuous improvement and collaboration.
Environmental, health & safety
Renishaw's Board is responsible for protecting the environment and the health and safety of everyone who works on or visits our sites, including employees, subcontractors, customers and other visitors. To support this, the Board has appointed Will Lee, Chief Executive Officer, as the designated Director for Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S). He oversees how the EH&S management system is implemented, reviewed and reported, and provides Board‑level leadership and oversight of our EH&S governance.
Learning & development
The training and development of all our employees' is vital to the success of our business therefore we provide a clear framework for developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours that support individual career progression and organisational success, while promoting a culture of lifelong learning. Guided by our values, we ensure that learning opportunities are accessible to all, encourage shared responsibility between employees and managers, and deliver meaningful development that aligns with business objectives.
Wellbeing
Wellbeing remains a key focus and our network of mental health first aiders continues to grow, with 107 people now trained. We have introduced new resources via our wellbeing platform, and run global events highlighting key topics such as stress awareness and setting boundaries. All employees have access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and employees at our largest UK sites have access to onsite counsellors each month.
Working hours
We're committed to creating a global work environment that supports both operational excellence and employee wellbeing across the regions that we operate in. Our working hours arrangements are designed to reflect local labour laws, cultural norms and business needs. We aim to foster a culture of trust, accountability and inclusivity where employees feel supported an empowered to do their best work.
Community engagement
We are committed to conducting business in a socially responsible way and aim to be open, honest and consistent in our approach to community relationships. While each country tailors its approach to community engagement to suit the local areas culture and needs, we focus our efforts on three key areas:
- delivering STEM education through our outreach programme
- participating in local community and business initiative
- financial and communications support for charities and not-for-profit organisations

STEM outreach
One of the ways we can build a diverse talent pipeline is through our science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programme. We engage with students from a range of groups, including schools, colleges and universities.
Our partners
We partner with organisations that share our core values. These organisations are dedicated to fostering innovation, maintaining integrity, inspiring our people, and supporting the communities and industries in which we operate.
Renishaw Charities Committee
The Renishaw Charities Committee is made up of employee representatives who meet bimonthly to distribute funds made available by the company to support charitable and voluntary organisations local to Renishaw's key UK locations.
Human rights
We operate within a complex global value chain and work with around 3,000 suppliers worldwide. As a responsible business, we are committed to improving the sustainability of our supply chain and protecting human rights. We have strengthened our processes to identify and manage risks such as modern slavery, child labour and conflict minerals. Internal reviews now help ensure our global teams apply our policies consistently and comply with relevant legislation. We are also implementing our global modern slavery policy, supported by clearer guidance and training for all employees to raise awareness of associated risks.
