What is the Primo™ Interface?
The Primo™ Interface manages communications between the Primo system and the machine tool controller. It also stores the credit information for the Primo system. A display on the front panel indicates the number of days of credit remaining, along with system status information.
How does the Primo Interface work?
When the part setter or tool setter triggers, a radio signal is transmitted to the CNC controller via the interface. The machine position is recorded and used to calculate the location of the workpiece or the size of the measured tool.
The Primo system uses Renishaw's patented frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) radio transmission, which counteracts the effects of interference from other radio frequencies and sources of electronic noise that are often present in a machine tool environment.
