The greater complexity of modern engines imposes ever tougher form and dimensional requirements on parts. Efficiency and operating standards also demand precise control of the flatness, waviness and roughness of material surfaces. Our technologies are used to validate part conformance against these requirements.


From correctly calibrating machine tools and ensuring accurate set-up to final inspection, we ensure out of tolerance parts never make it into final assembly of a vehicle.

Devices and software for accurate machine tool and CMM set-up create a foundation for high quality, repeatable, efficient manufacturing processes.

Tool setting and broken tool detection

Contact and non-contact tool setting systems to detect and adjust to the condition or wear of cutting tools.


Touch probes that ensure parts are set correctly, check for changes like thermal drift during machining and assure parts meet their specification and design intent.

Position encoders

Magnetic and optical encoders to give high accuracy in tight spaces.


Our 3 and 5-axis CMM probing systems can scan parts to inspect form and surface finish rapidly. This is particularly valuable for the inspection of features like valve seats and cylinder bores.
