Case study: EPflex case study: Improving process reliability with NC4+ Blue laser tool setter (pdf)

A case study about a manufacturer (EPflex) who produce minimally invasive medical instruments made from thin wire. Before thin wires can be formed, the requisite tiny features must be applied to the forming tools (jigs). NC4's ability to measure small milling tools, allows EPflex to detect tool wear of the milling tools used to cut narrow grooves in the forming tool. The finished forming tool can then be used to produce the thin wire instrument.
