在美國內華達州巴特爾山舉辦的世界人力車速度挑戰賽上,Ken Talbot和殘奧會選手、大英帝國勳章獲得者Karen Darke雙雙打破了男子和女子手動自行車速度世界紀錄。Talbot和Darke的速度分別達到51.86 mph和46.05 mph,目前在手動自行車手速度排名榜上分列第一位和第二位,而且Darke還超過了原來的男子紀錄。這一紀錄是騎乘ARION4計畫所打造的自行車而創造的。ARION4計畫由利物浦大學自行車車團隊(University of Liverpool Velocipede Team ,ULV團隊)發起設立,並得到了眾多工程技術公司比如Renishaw的鼎力支持。
